Charles Grandison Finney (1792-1875) was an effective evangelist and prominent leader in what has been titled "The Second Great Awakening." It is estimated that between 70%-85% of his professing converts endured in the faith, a statistic no other known evangelistic ministry could honestly claim for themselves. He was a powerful communicator of gospel truth and his audiences often experienced unbearable conviction during his meetings. His lectures on various revival themes are still widely read today.
Though having voiced certain theological viewpoints that some deem too unorthodox to entertain, Finney's views evolved over time and his humility and willingness to dialogue with other productive Christians showed the evidence of His Spirit-filled character. His life story and writings on revival should serve as potent inspiration for Christians to boldly proclaim the gospel in their own spheres of influence today.

Reuben Archer Torrey (1856-1928) was a powerful evangelist, Congregationalist pastor, educator at Moody Bible Institute, and impactful writer. Spending a significant portion of his ministry as D. L. Moody's right-hand man, R. A. Torrey proved to be a soul-winning, no-compromise preacher and a strikingly relevant theologian, helping countless young ministers put their theology into actionable steps.
His revival meetings often resulted in undeniable conversions and his teachings on topics like prayer and the Holy Spirit ignited once-stagnant Christians to embrace the power of God for the present day in a biblical and effectual way. His life story demonstrates how God sanctifies us over time, yet can use us every step of the way if we are truly surrendered to Him.
Torrey offered many practical resources to people who wanted to be used of God in a variety of ways. His desire to see theology turned into real-life ministry was evident in all of his writings, some offering step-by-step guides on how to do things like house visitations, street evangelism, and sermon preparation.
In this three volume set, his inspiring life story and practical, Spirit-filled teachings live on for future generations of Christians to benefit from.

William Booth (1829-1912) was the Founder & General of The Salvation Army.

The original, unaltered biographies of John Fletcher, William Bramwell, Gideon Ouseley, and the autobiography of Peter Cartwright.
The 18th Century evangelistic movement that swept Europe and America was arguably founded by George Whitefield and John Wesley, had the most famous of its music supplied by Charles Wesley, and was most famously continued after their deaths by Francis Asbury. The more Reformed among us will recall other Methodist figures such as Howell Harris and Daniel Rowland, but many Christians are totally unaware of the presence of other heroic Methodist figures who fearlessly preached the gospel toward the end of Whitefield and Wesley's time and the century following.
Just like the Methodists before them, these individuals dedicated their lives to preaching the gospel and defending the faith, come Hell or highwater (quite literally). Some stayed in Europe while others crossed the sea to America, but all of them traveled wherever the Spirit took them, preaching the gospel with unquenchable zeal and supernatural power everywhere they found themselves.
This volume exists to help preserve Methodist history and inspire this generation, and any that come after it, by the true spirit of Methodism, which was to preach the gospel to all those who needed it, no matter the cost.
